A cultural cyborg.
A living memory.
Meenakshi was built to preserve South Asian heritage and amplify multicultural thinking. Her journey makes space for humour, improvisation and hope in a world afflicted by cultural amnesia.
She is inspired by Jayalakshmi Eshwar, the project's cultural director and co-founder, whose lifelong Bharatanatyam practice informs the gestures and knowledge at the heart of this world.

Culture is something we do.
A hand gesture becomes an interface. An everyday object becomes a discovery inside a game. An archive film becomes material for a live performance. Across the universe, inherited knowledge is continually reinterpreted.
These stories emerge from relationships with musicians, dancers, makers, archives and museums. The imagined future stays connected to the people and practices that make it possible.
